Water Heater Replacement in Colorado Springs

These are the types of water heaters we install…

Conventional Tank Water Heaters

Conventional tank water heaters, also known as storage water heaters. This is the most common type of water heater. They not only heat your water but also store a specific volume of water in an insulated tank until it is needed. They can usually hold anywhere from 20 to 80 gallons of hot water.
Traditional tank water heaters can run from a few different energy sources. Electricity, Natural Gas, or Oil.

Electric Tank Water Heaters

Electric tank water heaters cost less than gas water heaters upon purchase but are more expensive to run because of the price of electricity. These water heaters use heating elements inside the tank that are powered by electricity to heat the water.

Natural Gas or Propane Tank Water Heaters

Natural gas or propane tank water heaters cost more than electric water heaters upon purchase but typically cost about half the price of electric water heaters to run. This is because of the difference in price of using these energy sources. A gas burner is located at the bottom of the tank to heat the water and the combustion gases are expelled outside through a flue or chimney.

Oil-Fired Tank Water Heaters

Oil-fired tank water heaters are similar to gas tank water heaters but use oil as the fuel source. An oil burner, located at the bottom of the tank, ignites the oil to heat the water. These systems are less common and are often found in areas where natural gas or propane is less accessible.

Tankless Water Heaters

Tankless water heaters, also known as ‘on-demand’ or ‘instantaneous’ water heaters, are energy-efficient alternatives to traditional tank-style water heaters. They provide hot water only when it is needed, eliminating the need for a storage tank.
Tankless water heaters are run from two different energy sources.

Electric Tankless Water Heaters

Electric tankless water heaters use electrical resistance heating elements to heat the water as it flows through the unit.

Gas Tankless Water Heaters

Gas tankless water heaters use a gas burner to heat water on-demand. They are available in both natural gas and propane models. Tankless water heaters work best in homes that use gas to heat the water. Generally produce more output than electric tankless water heaters.

Heat Pump (Hybrid) Water Heaters

Hybrid water heaters can heat the water within their tank in two ways. Either they can heat the water through electricity like a conventional water heater or they can capture heat from the air and transfer it to the water within the tank via a heat pump atop the water tank. Heat pumps can be costly to install initially but they use significantly less energy than standard water heaters. Heat pump water heaters are best in environments that stay within 40-90 degrees for optimal use. If the environment is too cold the heat pump may not be as effective.

Condensing Water Heaters

A condensing water heater is a high-efficiency appliance that heats water by utilizing the latent heat in the flue gases produced during combustion. It does this by cooling the exhaust gases below their dew point, causing water vapor to condense and release additional heat. This process maximizes energy efficiency and reduces energy consumption compared to traditional water heaters, making it a more eco-friendly and cost-effective choice for hot water production.
Cost of Water Heater Installation in Colorado Springs
Installing a new water heater can have a wide range of costs depending on the type of water heater you are going to be installing. The more energy/cost efficient the water heater runs, usually the more expensive the model will be upon purchase.
The average cost of conventional water heater replacement Colorado Springs is about $1,200-$2,000 depending on the model and the size of the tank. However, tankless water heaters can run you an average of around $6,000-7,000 to purchase and install.
Deciding Factors to Buying A Water Heater
Some factors to take into account when purchasing a new water heater in Colorado Springs is the size of the tank, if you’re looking to get a conventional water heater, and what type of water heater best suits your budget and needs. The size of the tank should match the amount of water you use normally. Buy a tank that’s too big and you’re just wasting money, buy a tank that’s too small and you will run out of hot water faster. Each tank provides a certain level of GPM (gallons per minute) which should be taken into account. You also want to be aware of the temperature rise, which is how much your water will need to be heated from ground temperature to desired output temperature of around 120˚F. The bigger the difference in temperature from ground temperature to output temperature, the slower your GPM will be. This is because your water heater will have to work harder to be able to heat up and deliver hot water.
We understand how urgent your water heater is to living a normal life. This is why we make sure to prioritize customers as quickly as possible. Our aim is to visit customers on the same day they call us if at all possible. We don’t want you going without hot water for any longer than necessary.
